Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Nearly 20 Years of Experience
Portrait of Dr. Catherine Lowrey, Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in online trauma therapy and sexual health.

I believe people inherently possess both the desire and the capacity to grow.

Our bodies and minds seek healing, whether from something as simple as a scraped knee or as complex as abuse and trauma. The adaptations that once helped us survive can, over time, become patterns that no longer support who we are becoming.

Research tells us that the number one factor for therapeutic success is the goodness of fit in the therapist-client relationship. I work hard to create a curious and compassionate environment so that you feel supported while also being challenged for overall growth. I'll work with you to help you understand the ways life experiences have shaped you, how you can heal from negative life events, how to cope and overcome life's stresses,

How I Work With Clients

I use a humanistic, integrative approach—which means I see your innate wisdom as essential to our work, and I tailor evidence-based therapies to fit your unique needs.

I create a space built on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and zero judgment. You already have the capacity for growth. My role is to provide the environment where insight can develop, unhelpful patterns can shift, and meaningful change can happen.

Getting to Know Each Other

People tell me I'm easy to talk to, that I ask curious questions, and that I'm caring. Those aren't things graduate school taught me—they're just part of who I am. And I think they're strengths in my work as a psychologist.

Outside of work, I'm usually with my husband and our two young children. At my best, I'm fully present—soaking in connection and nurturance with them. When I'm not at my best, I return to the same reminder I offer my clients: we're all on a lifelong journey of growth.

I welcome all people into my practice: all genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and relationship structures. If you're motivated and ready to invest in yourself, I'm here for you.

Let's see if we're a good fit.
