Insurance

I AM AN IN-NETWORK PROVIDER WITH AETNA, FOR ARIZONA CLIENTS. I DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER INSURANCE.

I can provide you with statements (a "superbill") should you choose to submit for possible reimbursement with your other insurance company.

There are benefits of seeking therapy from an in-network insurance provider, usually this includes paying less for the services. Unless you are a client in Arizona using your Aetna insurance for services, I am considered an out-of-network provider.

In-network providers are required to submit your diagnosis, which becomes part of your permanent medical record, and may impact your ability to obtain insurance coverage in the future (examples: impact your eligibility to obtain or increase your rate for life insurance).

Therapy with in-network providers can be less private because your insurance company may ask to audit your therapy records to process your claim.

Therapy with in-network providers can be limited by insurers based in what type of therapy and how many sessions are reimbursed. For example, many insurance companies do not reimburse for couples therapy due to the diagnostic codes that are assigned to these services.

Any client who is uninsured, or who is insured and chooses not to seek services utilizing their insurance benefits, has a right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes psychotherapy services.

You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
